The padel finals at the 2026 Asian Games came to a close on October 3 in Nagoya. Japan won the women’s tournament on home soil, while Qatar claimed men’s gold. Indonesia, Malaysia and Iran also featured on the competition’s medal table.

Japan wins women’s gold against Indonesia

Kae Tokumoto and Saki Tsukamoto beat Indonesia’s Fitriani Sabatini and Fadona Kusumawati in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. The win gives Japan its first women’s padel gold medal at the Asian Games.

Indonesia also took bronze. Novela Putria and Beatrice Gumulya won the third-place match against the Philippines’ Abad and Malazarte.

Qatar dominates the men’s final

In the men’s event, brothers Mashari and Rashed Naif won gold for Qatar by beating Malaysia’s Aidan Yunus and Christian Chin, 6-3, 6-1. Malaysia therefore finished with silver.

Men’s bronze went to Iran. Amirmohammad Jamshidi and Farsad Shahi won their match against compatriots Golestan and Roghani, 6-3, 6-4.

The next edition of the Asian Games will be held in Qatar in 2030. The International Padel Federation does not specify in its report whether padel will be included in the programme for that edition.
